MedTrans Go Achieves SOC 2 Certification: What It Means for Data Security

MedTrans Go is excited to announce that we have officially received our SOC 2 Type I certification! Along with our compliance with HIPAA, our SOC 2 Type I certification is another proactive step in our journey of providing our customers, patients, partners, and vendors with the highest quality service with a focus on security and privacy, as well as data validity, integrity, and availability.

What is SOC 2 Certification?

Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 is a security framework designed to ensure companies protect all customer data stored within their cloud environment. The SOC 2 framework is based on five Trust Criteria: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. Companies can test their adherence to these criteria through either a Type I or Type II report. The SOC 2 Type I report consists of an audit that assesses all the security processes of the company and their technology as of a particular date. Accordingly, the SOC 2 auditor opined that as of September 30, 2023, the internal controls MedTrans Go has in place provide reasonable assurance that our service commitments and system requirements will be achieved if our controls continue to operate effectively as of that date.

Adhering to the SOC 2 framework demonstrates MedTrans Go’s dedication to preventing any potential data breaches or security incidents by strengthening systems and internal processes before a privacy issue has the chance to arise. We take the issue of data security and privacy extremely seriously, and stress that to all of our partners that help facilitate our NEMT and Interpretation services.

What does SOC 2 mean for our customer and patient data?

Companies that have been certified to follow the SOC 2 framework have credibly proven the security of their processes for managing and storing customer data. When it comes to Protected Health Information (PHI), maintaining secure and confidential cloud storage is vital for patient care and protection. Together with HIPAA, MedTrans Go has acquired these certifications to ensure that our customers and patients can rest assured that we have structured our technology and team under the core premise of data privacy, confidentiality, and security.

Being a healthcare provider is stressful enough without a potential PHI breach. With MedTrans Go, we take the proactive approach to keep your mind at ease so you can focus on providing the best care to your patients.

Who is MedTrans Go?

Canceled appointments and procedures cost the US healthcare industry over $150 billion every year. MedTrans Go optimizes healthcare appointments by addressing the root causes of patient cancellations, such as transportation and interpretation issues. With our technology, healthcare providers can request and track services provided by safe, reliable, and vetted medical transportation, interpretation, home health care, and Rx delivery providers in one centralized place.

Beyond ensuring patients attend their appointments, MedTrans Go works to increase patient throughput for high volume medical facilities and departments, improve the efficiency of healthcare operations, and provide customers with unique analytics about an area of care coordination that the industry currently has little insight into.
